Universal Darwinism and
Cosmology
Proposed explanations of Cosmology
employing Darwinian processes are recent developments in the evolution
of Universal Darwinism. Lee Smolin's theory of Cosmological Natural
Selection is the most developed. This theory was initially presented in
his book
The Life of the Cosmos.
A recent elaboration on this
theory was presented in an article
Scientific Alternatives to the Anthropic
Principal.
The inclusion of Cosmology within the
realm of Universal Darwinism provides a testament to the power of
Darwin's 'Dangerous Idea'. Scientific explanations for all design
whether found in Cosmology, Biology or Culture are now available
employing Darwinian processes as their primary creator of design.
